Video Quality on this release is Standard Definition 480i in MPEG-2 on 3 DVD-9 (9 gigabyte dual layer DVD Discs) and presented in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio.

Video Quality on this release showcases bold, striking colors.I did not notice any signs of bleeding and fleshtones were natural.Contrast is solid throughout. The only complaint I can make for this presentation is compression artifacts plague entrances and interviews on the stage.Sometimes fast paced action exhibits these artifacts as well.Another strong effort from WWE for a overall 4 out of 5 Stars video rating.

Audio Quality on this release is in Dolby Digital 5.1.

Audio Quality on this release complements the video nicely.Mostly a front heavy track there are some subtle crowd effects bled throguh surrounds from time to time. Most noticeably during a full match. There are several interview clips featuring WWE Superstars discussing the best moments of Smackdown and the dialogue is clear and intelligible throughout as is commentary heard during the clips.LFE is pretty much nonexistent.A solid presentation that never detracts from the footage you're watching earns this release a solid 4 out of 5 Stars for overall audio quality.

    Overall Quality

Overall this release is a nice rundown of WWE's number two show.I personally have always preffered Smackdown over Raw.The matches that are shown here showcase the best talent and also what makes Smackdown the "wrestling" show for purists. There are some very memorable segments spread across all three discs but they are unfortunatley not shown in full.In fact the only segment shown in its entirety is the Billy & Chuck wedding with Eric Bischoff as the minister. The aformentioned clips also are broken up by WWE Superstars and staff members talking about their feelings of each moment. If you are new to Smackdown or have been a fan of the show since the historic first episode in 1999 this is a solid reccomendation.
